The Interfora training facility in Saint-Fons (at the heart of the Lyon's "Chemistry Valley") has started to reorganize its training program around the chemicals industry and sustainable development. The center was created in 1948 to provide the industry with qualified staff. It is now responsible for around 750 trainees (from basic qualifications for skilled workers through to B.Eng. degrees) and 8,000 continuing professional education students in fields such as chemistry, the life science industry, water treatment and so on. Interfora is now to become a major training provider - reflecting true commitment by France's Union des Industries Chimiques industry body to introduce sustainable development into companies.
