
LYON-BASED RESEARCHERS
LAUNCH A EUROPEAN UNION PROGRAM
The goal of this European program is to redefine stem cell culture methods so that animal-derived produces no longer has to be used. It has received €3 million in funding from the European Union's 7th RTD Framework Programme.
The project (set to run for 3 years) includes highly reputed partners from across Europe: CNRS-ENS and INSERM (France), the University of Liege (Belgium), Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universtät Bonn (Germany), Bioneer A/S (Denmark) and Roslin Cells Limited and Glycomar Limited (UK).
The CNRS-ENS and INSERM groups (led by Dr Brian Rudkin and Dr Pierre Savatier, respectively) will study cell survival and self-renewal.
