TWO RESEARCHERS

WIN AWARDS

Two researchers from the Léon Bérard Cancer Center win awards from France's Foundation for Research Medical.

Léon Bérard Cancer Center researchers Professor Alain Puisieux and Professor Jean-Yves Blay have been honored for their contributions to science and medicine by France's Foundation of Research Medical (Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale).

Professor Alain Puisieux has been awarded the Raymond Rosen Prize for his research on breast cancer and neuroblastoma (a cancer which particularly affects children). His fundamental and clinical research work has revealed how these tumors develop and has identified new prognostic markers (notably mutations in the p53 gene).

Professor Jean-Yves Blay receives the Lucien Tartois Prize for his work on molecular defects in breast sarcoma and adenocarcinoma, the identification of which is essential for developing new, targeted treatments.
