THE CLARA
INDUSTRY-ACADEMIA
MEETING
On October 20th, 2009, the CLARA cancer cluster will hold the second edition of its Industry-Academia Meeting.
In 2008, about 70 businesspeople and 60 researchers participated in the first edition of this partnering convention, the aim of which is to promote innovation in oncology.
This year's program includes a plenary session with testimonies and feedback and an awards ceremony for the most promising academic projects. The second edition will focus on one-to-one meetings for fostering translational research collaborations in oncology.
The CLARA cancer cluster was created as a result of France's 2003 National Cancer Plan and strong regional commitment from the Rhône-Alpes and Auvergne regional councils. The cluster coordinates regional efforts in cancer research by linking up the various academic, clinical and industrial stakeholders. CLARA is also underpinned by the Lyonbiopôle cluster, the Grenoble nanobiotechnology cluster, the Synergy Lyon cancer research & care network, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the ETOILE hadron therapy project.
