ENCOURAGING

PRE-CLINICAL RESULTS

This preclinical "proof of concept" study was sponsored jointly by Nanobiotix and the CLARA cancer cluster and run by the National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM)).

It focused on the treatment of glioblastoma, one of the most frequent brain tumors. By validating the application of its nanoPDT nanoparticles, Nanobiotix hopes to make rapid progress in the development of its nanoXray technology - opening the way to treatment of a variety of pathologies, such as neck and lung cancer. This technology specifically targets and destroys tumor cells while leaving healthy tissue unharmed. The nanoPDT nanoparticles generate physical-chemical reactions that specifically target cancer cells and are activated by an external trigger such as a magnetic field or a laser.

The start-up Nanobiotix (hosted in the Laënnec company incubator) specializes in nanomedicine and cancer treatment.
