Recombinant L-asparaginase: a fast-growing market for Lyon

The Lyon-based, privately-held biopharmaceutical group Alizé Pharma has announced its acquisition of EUSA Pharma's preclinical recombinant L-asparaginase program, targeted at the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and other hematological conditions.

This announcement follows Biotech Lyon company Erytech Pharma's recent launch of a program on encapsulating recombinant L-asparaginase in red blood cells.
These two announcements confirm the Lyon biocluster's advance in a cutting edge oncology/hematology market.
